Skopje, Macedonia
Public Room

Follow the round table discussion in Skopje, tomorrow 14 December 2017 from 12:30, focusing on ADVANCING REGIONAL CO-OPERATION IN TOURISM, organised by Balkania and The Balkan Forum.

The round table aims to stimulate discussion with representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Economy, private/business sector, civil society, academic staff, university students, and media, on trends and developments in tourism, including opportunities and challenges to strengthening regional co-operation in this area through the presentation of findings from the briefing "Advancing regional co-operation in tourism".

Key questions that we will discuss during this round table include:

  • What is required to develop joint regional products that attract tourists from other (big) markets?
  • Which regional “products” are having or could have big (transformative) potential and/or bring benefits to the region?
  • How could we attract our diaspora not only to spend time and money in our region but make serious investments in tourism?
  • What are key challenges to regional products/tourism?
