On 14 December 2017, The Balkan Forum in partnership with Balkania from Skopje, Macedonia, launched their regional briefing on tourism at the roundtable discussion held in Skopje entitled “Advancing regional cooperation in tourism”.
Balkania presented the findings and recommendations that stimulated lively discussions with participants representing the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Economy, private/business sector, civil society, academic staff, university students, and media from Macedonia.
Discussion, ideas and recommendations at this roundtable showed a multi-sectoral confirmation on the need of integrated regional cooperation and a consensual recognition of the opportunities and benefits that can arise from it. Majority of participants expressed support for initiatives that aim to further advance regional research, dialogue and cooperation on tourism.
